Daniel Rosenboom (b. 1982) is a composer, trumpet player, improviser, record producer, and creative artist.
“Rosenboom is a phenomenon,” says Mark Swed of the Los Angeles Times. “His speed and zinging high notes are amazing. He is a cool customer onstage, but what comes out of the mouthpiece is red hot.” Combining the sounds of contemporary classical music with rock, metal, hip-hop, jazz, experimental electronic and improvised music, and traditional folk music from the Balkans, North India, and Middle East, Rosenboom has become one of the west coast's foremost trumpet artists and rising creative musicians.
In 2006 Rosenboom released his debut solo CD, Bloodier, Mean Son, features world-premeire recordings of new works for solo trumpet and electronics, on Nine Winds Records. In 2007 his band PLOTZ! released their debut CD, Extraordinary Renditions, followed by Live 2008 in the fall of 2008. Also in 2008, another of his bands, DR. MiNT released their debut CD, Visions and Nightmares on the pfMenutm label, followed by A New Symphony in 2009 on SNP Records. Also in 2009 he released his second solo CD featuring his own suite of music for prog-rock big band, Book of Riddles, again on SNP Records.
